They will also miss listening to stories of his childhood and when he immigrated to Canada as a boy. His great-grandchildren will miss the boxes of smarties he always had waiting for them when they came to visit.

Tom, very sorry to hear your Dad has passed on. We had a Prince George connection. Norm landed in Prince George about 1953 and we were in the same grade in school. As we were subcontractors on most of the buildings in Rutland in the 1970s we were good friends. It was a real pleasure to talk to Norm when you were blazing up the ice in hockey. - Jay Hunter - May 20, 2023

Dear Tom and Ray and family, what a wonderful life your dad had. Apart from losing the love of his life far too early, he was always surrounded by friends and family. Can we hope for anything more? We had so many memories, lots of trouble we got into, and your dad reprimanded me just as much as you two! Strong and stern as a bear, but kind and gentle like a lamb. His laugh was almost as hearty and contagious as your moms. When my dad made a (usually silly) joke, they would howl and actually have tears by the time they calmed down. those were the days of carefree laughter before we really considered wars and climate change. We worked hard, fished hard, and played hard. Like family as my mom mentioned before. I had complete comfort and joy being around your folks, like I felt with my own. Lassie lake, Doreen lake, Crooked lake, Nicola lake, Woods Lake. so many fantastic times and great campfires and moonshine fireballs. Midnight feasts with buns master and giant slabs of coldcuts. Gi Joe and pellet guns and hunting and sausage making marathons. Smoked Kokanee to drool over and feast upon. We look back now and realize our childhoods were great gifts that I alway feel great gratitude for. I will always remember the memories our parents created for us and hope your lives continue to be blessed. Love always. Brent Hehn - Brent Hehn - May 10, 2023

Sorry to hear of Mr. Haas’s passing. I remember him fondly over the years at the rink cheering us kids on and giving us the encouragement to work hard.
