GREENAWAY, Gwendolyn

GREENAWAY, Gwendolyn

May 25, 1924 - November 27, 2021

On November 27, 2021, the long, rich, and simple life of Gwen Greenaway came, peacefully, to an end. Born 97 years ago in Kamsack, SK, Gwen attended school in Toronto, ON. She moved back to Saskatchewan, met and married John Greenaway, and raised three children. After John's retirement, she and John moved to Kelowna, BC. True to her prairie roots, she was strong-willed and intelligent, she loved music and loved her family. Gwen's legacy is in her children, Robert (Barbara) and Kenneth (Janet), and her grandson Nathan. She was sadly predeceased by her husband John and their eldest son Richard.

Gwen’s family: I am sorry to read of your mother’s passing. We shared the loss of our two sons, Dick and Larry in 1983. Donna Nicholas

I was saddened to hear of Gwen's passing. I was fortunate to get to know her at Sandalwood and must say that she was such a sharp and unique lady, I loved chatting with her. Whether it was to fix her tv, look at her mandala pictures that she so enjoyed or just a quick hello, she was a bright spot in the craziest days...especially through all of the uncertainty of covid.

Sending my sincere condolences to Bob, Ken and the entire family.

I enjoyed Gwen when I met her in Sandalwood! She was in charge of Saturday Bridge, but gave it up and I took over—BUT Gwen was always there early to help me. When she fell down one day in the hall, she hoped that the paramedics that were coming to help her, were as good looking as the last ones. A great sense of humour, and good Bridge player. She was a treat to know! Bonnie S.
