Obituaries

Mary Green, 85, of Coldstream, sadly passed away at North Okanagan Hospice on July 9th, 2022.
Mary was born July 4th, 1937, in Luton, Bedfordshire, England, to John and Phyllis Leech. She was the oldest of eight siblings.

Predeceased by her beloved husband Albert in 1968, her parents, sisters Phyllis, Julie, and Patricia. She is survived by her children John, Teresa and Julie, her grandchildren Christa, Mitchell, Maxwell and Geordie and her great grandchildren Kyrie and Shai. Mary was thrilled to be an honorary grandmother to Brooke and Kali and honorary great grandmother to Allove. She also leaves behind her sisters Diane, and Teresa (Ken), her brothers John (Maureen) and Chris as well as many nieces and nephews both in Canada and Great Britain.

Many of mom’s most cherished moments were spent with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. They were her world.

A special thank you to Dr. Diana Peters, the doctors and nursing staff of VJH, Creekside Landing and staff at hospice who provided care, kindness, and support to her during her difficult last year of life.
Following a private internment 11:30 a.m., Monday, August 15th, 2022, at Coldstream cemetery, the family will host a casual Celebration of Life between 1:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m., “cuppa tea time”, at Friesen’s Countrytime Gardens (9172 Kalamalka Road, Coldstream).

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to North Okanagan Hospice or to a charity of your choice.

  Mary- you've always been such an important part of our family! You gave unconditionally of your self..and never asked for anything in return. You were integral in the raising of the girls! They know how much you shaped their lives..and will always be grateful for that! You definitely earned your wings here and in heaven..thank you for all your love and compassion for all who needed it.
