Duane’s family are saddened and heartbroken to announce his sudden passing on September 1st following a short illness. He was 75 years young. He is survived by his loving wife, Heather, his daughter Jaime, grandson Ryan, his son Michael, grandson Kieran, grandchildren Taylor and Taysha, stepdaughters Tenille (Logan) Eley and Tiffany (Jimmy) Withnall and grandchildren Jax & Brynn Eley and Harper & Mason Withnall. He was predeceased by his eldest son, Scott in 2022.
Duane was born and raised in Weyburn Sask. and will always be the cherished favorite brother of his sisters, Janice Hintz (Aimee) of Medicine Hat AB and Debby Marriott (Allan) of Yorkton SK.
Duane worked in Radio Broadcasting for more than 50 years beginning his career in Weyburn SK moving onto Regina, Lethbridge, Edmonton, Kelowna and Vernon. To him it was never work, as Radio and Music were his passions.
Duane and Heather were fortunate to have enjoyed many wonderful vacations throughout their 29 years of marriage to different parts of Mexico, Hawaii, Australia and the Caribbean.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, October 1st in the Desert Cove Recreation Hall, 155 Head of the Lake Rd Vernon BC at 1 pm. Luncheon to follow.

Worked with Duane at CFSL Weyburn in 1969,was a great communicator, and friend ,a friendly friend ,loved his Football and Radio.

I'm saddened to hear about Duane's passing. I worked with Duane at Kiss-FM/Beach radio . He was also very kind to me and always stopped by my news desk to chat a bit. I had the pleasure of working with Duane in radio. The old CKOV and then when he was in sales in Vernon at KISS FM.He was a great guy always smiling and willing to help when help was needed. Duane was a great human and will be missed. My sincere condolences to the Gandbois family.RIP Duane. - Don Huculak
