GILROYED, Wayne James

It is with a broken heart I announce Wayne’s passing on May 2, 2022. After a 20 year battle with cancer is now at rest.

Wayne is survived by his wife Elaine, children Jamie and Sherry, grandchildren and great grandsons.

As per his wishes there will be no service.

Dear Elaine,

We were all so sad to read of Wayne's passing. He was such a great guy!

You two were our first neighbours at Idabel and we appreciated how you were so friendly, helpful and kind.

Wayne never appeared to let his illness slow him down. His energy level was incredible. We won't forget how he offered to show us newcomers a great snowmobile trail. He said it would take about a half hour.

Well, 2 1/2 hours later, he escorted the boys home. He looked like he just had enjoyed an easy trip while the rookie snowmobilers were frozen, sore, exhausted and starving. It was pretty funny!

Wayne will be missed by so many. He was special and will not be forgotten.

Elaine and family. We are so very sorry for your loss. I have Many wonderful memories of Wayne and me at Mission Creek Golf Course. The 19th hole was always a special time of trying to better our game. The Lord saw that Wayne was getting very tired from his long courageous battle and he called him home to the big golf course.
