EMIGH, William

EMIGH, William

With great sadness our family announces the passing of William Richard Emigh on July 20, 2019 at the age of 88.
Bill was born in Watrous, Saskatchewan to Harrison and Ruth Emigh on January 21, 1931. He moved with his parents to Vancouver in 1944, married first wife Judy Dickson in 1959, and raised three children with her. Bill worked in the engineering departments of the City of Vancouver and the Municipality of Burnaby, then became a principal at Arthon Construction before moving to Kelowna in 1982. Many happy post-retirement years have been spent with his second wife Margaret (Peg) - the intrepid, devoted pair enjoyed abundant adventures as members of Kelowna Nordic and the Central Okanagan Naturalists' Club in addition to travels further afield.
Bill is predeceased by siblings Bruce, Harold, Leslie, Marjorie and Berniece. He is survived by wife Peg, children Linda (Keryn), Colleen (Peter), Brian (Jerry), grandsons Camden and Jayden, Peg's children Anne (Monty), Jane (Larry), Kirsten (Carlos), Thor, Minna, Johs, numerous step-grandchildren, and a broad extended family in Saskatchewan. He is also survived by many friends from the Kelowna area as well as a group of long-time friends dating back to school days in Vancouver.
Farewell, Dad. Whenever any of us manages to do something wise or decent we'll know it's probably your hand working through us. Your laugh, your friendly smile, your gentle spirit will always be with us.
At Bill's request there will be no formal service. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Central Okanagan Land Trust are warmly encouraged.

Dear Peggy, it will be 4 years in Oct. of this year that I left Kelowna to move to Toronto to be closer to family. I remember Bill well through CONC and, I am sure, you still remember me. So sorry to hear of his passing.

Peggy, I was so sorry to hear of Bill's passing. You were so happy together and have such great memories. I always enjoyed seeing you together at Parkinson's Rec Centre after your joint work-out. Such vibrancy and such love.

Thinking of you my fellow ICU RN colleague. We go back a long way and you are always in our hearts and fond memories. Even to the Son's of Norway cross country races/events.
