DYRGAS, Frank Joseph

DYRGAS, Frank Joseph

Born October 6, 1934, Canmore, Alberta.  Died January 24, 2018, Kamloops, B.C.

Frank was born to Frank and Rose, at home, on the banks of the Bow River, 83 years ago, the eighth of ten children.  Survived by his wife of almost 60 years, Barbara, daughters, Wendy Leskosek and Sharon (David) Perras.  Grandchildren, Corina (Scott) Lecours, Joshua Leskosek, Jaime (Tyler) Nowell and step grand daughter, Charmaine Perras.  Great grandchildren, Mathieu and Alexis Lecours (and their father Stephane), and Kaylee Nowell. Sister, Caroline Tyson and brother Leon (Vera), and sister’s in law, Patricia Dyrgas and Patricia Thompson.  Also survived by one cousin, Doreen Wilson, and nieces and nephews, too numerous to mention, but greatly loved.  Predeceased by seven siblings, Mary Salvaag, Mike, Anton, Elsie Armstrong, Frances Love, Pauline Ullrich, Joe, also, son-in- law, Randy Leskosek and an infant grand daughter.

Canmore was home for 73 years until a move to Kelowna, BC, and just recently to Kamloops, BC.  Frank’s last few days were spent in Overlander Residential Care Home, (Evergreen).  We will be forever grateful for the kind, compassionate care takers there.

A service will be held in Canmore, in the Spring, when Frank’s ashes will be placed in the columbarium, facing the mountains. In lieu of flowers a donation to a charity of your choice would be greatly appreciated.

    Barb:
We hold you in our prayers as we remember Frank as a fine man, good miner, and dedicated Christian who did much to make our world a better place. His stoicism in the last few years was admirable and we will miss him, but know that he is peacefully in a better place.

    Barb,
We are so sorry to hear of Frank's passing. When we were greeters at St. Michael's and you both walked up the stairs, Frank would always welcome both of us with a big, warm smile. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family at this time.
Louise and Andy Griffin, St. Michael's, Kelowna
