DRANCHUK, Eleanore Margarite

Eleanore Margarite Dranchuk (Hawrysh) passed away peacefully on July 28, 2017 at the Central Okanagan Hospice House. Eleanore was born in Meachem Sask and turned 89 on July 24, 2017. Eleanore is survived by her husband Peter, her sister Virginia, her sons James (Kim) and Peter (Lynn) and grandchildren Nolan and Lukas. She was predeceased by her sister Victoria. Eleanore met her husband while both were teaching in Alberta and moved to Kelowna in 1968 where she raised her family. Eleanore put up a brave fight with lung cancer which she was diagnosed with earlier this year. Her first priority was family and continued to visit and care for her husband Peter the day before her sudden death. Nothing made her happier than being with her family and of course, feeding her grandchildren.
Service will be held at the Ukrainian Catholic Church, 1091 Coronation Ave at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, August 5, 2017. Reception and graveside service to follow.
In lieu of flowers donations to BC Cancer Agency.

I got to know Eleanore quite well while I worked at DLJ and she was such an amazing lady that had such love and dedication to Peter. I was shocked to read that she passed away and she will be missed dearly. Thoughts with you all at this time.

Jim, Peter & family, we were shocked to hear the passing of your mother. We have been friends with Peter and Eleanor since the early 70's and have many fond memories of our numerous get-to-gethers. Sorry we are unable to be at the service as we will be out of town, but our thoughts and prayers are with you all.
