CRUICKSHANK (NEE NIBLOCK), Elizabeth (Beth) Bradford

CRUICKSHANK (NEE NIBLOCK), Elizabeth (Beth) Bradford

CRUICKSHANK, Elizabeth (Beth) Bradford (nee Niblock)
October 12, 1932 – April 8, 2025

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Beth. She is survived by six children: Susan (Omer), Dick (Joanne), Brad (Susan), Charlotte (Tom), Sheila (Eric), and Sandy (Denise) and many grandchildren/great-grandchildren/nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by Forbes, her husband of 61 years, her brother Bud, and sister Ida.

Beth was born and raised in Kelowna and was a proud graduate of Kelowna High School. Other than a short adventure living with two small children in a log cabin while Forbes logged in the Cariboo, Beth enjoyed a life in her hometown.

Beth was an avid quilter and sewer and so when the six children were old enough, she started to work as a seamstress at several fashion boutiques including Ashtons until she retired from Henderson’s Cleaners. She enjoyed expanding her skills by taking courses at Okanagan College in typing, placer mining, furniture upholstery and cake decoration. Beth was busy until recent years sewing, knitting, and crocheting items for her family.

Beth gardened vegetables and flowers, and she loved the myriad of cats and dogs that shared her home over the years.

Beth enjoyed travel throughout her life starting with a memorable trip to Europe with the British Columbia Dragoons in 1972 and ending with her family trip to the United Kingdom, Europe, and the Caribbean in 2023. She also travelled to visit her children and grandchildren all over Canada and the US.

The family would like to thank the caring, compassionate staff at Hawthorn Park and Orchard Manor for all that they did for Beth over the past few years.

Beth will be cremated, and no funeral will be held per her request. In lieu of flowers, Beth would have wanted you to direct a donation in her name to the BCSPCA.
