CRANE, John Philip

CRANE, John Philip

January 14th, 1950-July 29th, 2017

It is with heartfelt sadness that we announce the passing of John on July 29, 2017. He will be greatly missed by his wife Bonnie and their three children Jarrod, Nicole and Christopher. Who through example gave them many strong virtues to apply throughout their lives.
John was an outdoor enthusiast who could be found outside during all seasons. In the winter, he was often in a forest cross-country skiing, snowshoeing up Noble canyon or ice-skating. In the summer he enjoyed hiking, camping, building tree stands or just sitting watching the wildlife around him. His greatest passion was fishing. He was an avid fly fisherman who could be found casting his own invented flies in an effort to catch and release the next big one.
He was a lifelong learner and was always curious. His curiosities lead him to learn many things from bee keeping to developing a passion of gardening, which was always evolving, as was his yard.
John was a compassionate man who was always caring for those around him. He was an active member of the Lavington community and spent many hours with Gordy at the ice rink and made sure there was enough wood for the fire.
His greatest joy was being with his family. His family and friends will greatly miss John and will keep the memories of him alive through stories and laughter.
There will be no service by John

It is still a shock that my younger brother is no longer with us, as he was such an active individual, and was in great physical condition. Our sympathies are with you Bonnie, and also with Jarrod, Nicole, and Christopher. He was loved by all of us, and will be missed. See you at the family get together. Love you guys. Dave and family.

So sad to hear of John's passing. Especially for you, Bonnie, having just retired and finally being able to spend more time together. We have the memory of our salmon fishing trip with you and John, along with Brian and Coralee to Bamfield and the fun we had. We are sad for you Jarrod, Nicole and Christopher in the loss of your Father.

I worked with John for many years at the Lavington Glass factory(formerly Consumer's Glass)-always a gentleman with a positive attitude! Always had kind words to share with anyone who had time to share with him. Living as his neighbor
for a few years instilled in me the example of the person I aspired to be.Thanks John..you will not be forgotten. My sincere condolences to your family and friends.
