CLAYTON, Edward (Ted)

CLAYTON, Edward (Ted)

Ted was born August 4, 1945 in Lethbridge, Alberta to Art and Caroline Clayton. He grew up in Armstrong and attended school there. Later school years he worked summers for Ron Brown, plumbing and contracting. After graduation he attended NAIT in Edmonton finishing there as an electronics technician. He spent a few years on the prairies selling laboratory and medical equipment. Eventually the west came calling, and he went to Vancouver selling electronic components for several companies. The seventies saw him in Vernon where he worked in various capacities for several construction and contracting companies until his retirement.

Ted is survived by one brother, Cam of Vernon, a daughter Brandee, and grandson Benjamin of North Vancouver. There will likely be a private gathering in his honor later this year.

Ted and i were the same age, he was a good friend and i have many memories of us growing up in Armstrong. Lots of boyhood adventures and many later in our teens and young years. Life dealt Ted many challenges along the way , but he always responded with an enthusiastic attitude. Rest in peace “Theodore “ as i always called him, life moves on. - Don Dodds

So sorry to hear of Ted's passing. He was a kind man and helped one of my son's when my son was young and injured. Our grandma lived next door to Caroline, Ted's mother. Ted was fast to respond and so very kind. I will always remember that. Rest in Peace, Ted.

Ted was a very close family friend of the Fletcher family. From our summers at Mara Lake to driving a school bus across Canada with both Ted and my brother we had a look of good tunes growing.
In recent years our paths took different directions however Ted was always part of my Armstrong family.
I was deeply saddened to learn of his passing. My sincere condolences to Cam and the Clayton family.
My you find peace knowing Ted is in a better place.
    Sincerely sorry
    David Fletcher
