BROWN, Lynn

BROWN, Lynn

We are saddened to announce the passing of Lynn George Brown.

From the time he was a young boy in Abbotsford, his aim was to work hard and make money, starting with a paper route, then he raised chickens (which died from Newcastle virus), grew corn (stunted from too much rain), worked in a tire shop, and drove gravel truck (building the Williams Lake airport), until he got a job in a grocery store, where Lynn found his niche.

In 1960 he married and moved to Penticton as assistant manager of the Shop Easy supermarket in the brand new Penticton Plaza shopping center, which was considered 'in the sticks' at that time. He became a manager and a father at 23.
In 1976 he left the corporate world to invest in his own Shop Easy in Summerland. Lynn loved the older generation, teasing them, and them saucing him right back. He was well thought of by most including his staff, passing on a strong work ethic, believing in positive relations between management and staff, and fairness to all.

Left to mourn are his wife of 65 years, Donna and three cherished children, sons Curtis (wife Michelle, children Michael and Amy), and Craig (who thankfully was visiting home from Papua New Guinea), and daughter Tracy (pre-deceased in 2010), and his sister Willa Kraft and her family of Abbottsford.

We would like to give thanks to Dr. Allen, and the wonderful staff at Summerland Senior's Village.

Rest in peace sweetheart!
