Eric Harry Brown and Elizabeth (Betty) Jean Brown

Eric, born June 22, 1922, passed away June 9, 2017 at the age of 94. Eric was born in North Battleford Saskatchewan and after serving Canada in World War 2 moved to Kelowna.

Betty, born June 28, 1926, passed away June 12, 2017, at the age of 90. Betty was born, raised and lived all her life in Kelowna.

Eric and Betty began their life together June 7, 1952 and for the past 65 years have lived, worked, raised their family, and partnered each other through life

Sincere condolences to the Brown family on your loss. I have fond memories of your Mom playing bridge at our home as well as picking apples for your Dad. Dear Russell, Carol, Bob and Andrew, we are sorry to hear of the passing of your parents, Betty and Eric. They were two of our communities greatest builders who are true Okanagan pioneers carving out of the forest on Boucherie Road a home, orchard, family and community. Your mother and her support in Lakeview Heights made our community so rich and better off. Eric was always a leader in growing Pears, Apples and Cherries. Long before Integrated Pest Management practices I would often hear from our father that Eric was spraying his 1/2" green dormant oil or for coddling moth and using it as a barometer to ensure we checked our orchards as well. Your family is a proud and important part of the Westside's history and we will always remember Betty and Eric's contributions.

I know you have wonderful memories and now Eric and Betty are together in a special place.

I always loved to talk with Betty, as we waited to go into church. We were both in the choir. Your dad was quieter, but he always had time for a quiet nod of his head.

I lost touch with them over the years, but can still see the twinkle in Betty's eyes.

Andrew and family, sorry to hear of your loss. We always enjoyed visiting your parents when we were at Hawthorn Park. Our last visit with them was in November when we were in Kelowna.

Dear Andrew,Russel,Bob and Carol. We are so sorry to hear of the passing of your mom and dad.I have many memories of them when we were hanging out at their house on boucherie road.Your mom sure could put out a spread at lunch time while your dad was working hard in the orchard. We hope you take solice that you had So much time with them.
