BISTRICKY, Brigitte (Schmid)

“Grief is the Price of Love”

Brigitte “Brigi” after a lengthy painful illness left this earth on Sept 20, 2019. She was born on October 2, 1947 in Salzgitter Lebensledt Germany to Karl & Mira Schmid. Sister Silvia now in Ontario and Marcel in Kelowna followed. In 1960 they arrived in Sudbury Ontario and her father Karl worked at “Enco” After several years they settled in Kitchener Ontario. “Brigi” met her future husband “Joe” New Years eve 1963 – 64. In 1968 married. They were blessed with their only child “Derek” who resides in Kelowna. “Brigi” was talented in creating beauty by operating a beauty salon and a florist business. Travelling several times through the Okanagan they fell in love with the area and moved here in 1991. She continued to carry on in the florist industry and later joined her husband with his driving school until her health declined. She was very strong in her faith which guided her through life.

We thank Dr. Larry Bobyn our long-time family Doctor. Dr. John Oliver and Dr. Lawlor who have her new hope and all the staff at KGH, 6th and 4th floor. The nurses from Bennet Home , Kim from Valley Medical and how often we forget the unsung heroes the Fire Department and Paramedics. Our thanks to all.

Funeral Service will be held on October 3rd, 2019 at ICC by Father Cerlouie Jimenez at 12:00 noon. Followed by a reception in the church hall.
