BERRY, Tawny Helen

BERRY, Tawny Helen

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved sister, aunt, great aunt and friend. Tawny passed peacefully on February 25th, 2018 at the age of 54, surrounded by her loved ones at the Central Okanagan Hospice House in Kelowna, BC.
She is survived by her loving family: sister Lori Stone, nephew Gary Stone and his wife Amy and their children Keith and Paisely, niece Stefanie Stone and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Sadly, predeceased by her father Brian (Bud) Berry and her mother Lillian Berry.

“She soars with the angles
Flies with the butterflies
She’s a world away
But never forgotten”
Special thanks for all the loving and compassionate care provided by Dr. Sauciuc, Dr. Claremont and the amazing staff at the Central Okanagan Hospice house.
A private family Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
Should family and friends so desire, memorial donations may be made to the Cancer Center for the Southern Interior and the Central Okanagan Hospice House.
We take comfort in knowing her mother was waiting to welcome her home.

I was saddened when I heard the news. Tawny was the best bartender ever to work with ...she made a nasty ice tea. I worked with her at Zapps and Live Wire in Kelowna. She was always happy and made sure I was ready for my DJ show. My sympathies to all who will miss her, as you deal with this loss. Until we meet again in that big nightclub in the sky!

    Lori,
Our hearts, thoughts and prayers are with you and your family at this difficult time. Tawny was such an amazing person, funny, strong, caring, vibrant and loving. She had a heart of gold, her smile always lit up a room, and she always welcomed everyone to her home. She was an amazing friend. We will carry so many wonderful memories with us of laughing and playing games with her in her activity room. We love her and will miss her very much. She will always hold a special place in our hearts.

Good-bye Tawny... I haven't seen you in thirty years. More than forty years since riding the school bus together far out in Glenmore each day. Many happy memories of our youth. Though we were only close friends for short period of time (a long time ago), I wanted you to know that you had a positive and lasting effect on me. Judging by all the other comments posted, you had that effect on many people. You must be proud that so many people remember you so well from way back in our school days and for all the right reasons. I know many of your friends that have written to you (and Lori) on this post, great group of folks.
You will live on in the memories of more people than you likely ever realized.
    Good-bye Tawny.
    Hugs,
    Trevor Moelaert

    Dear Lori
I just learned of Tawny's passing and so very shocked as I did not realize she was ill. My Aunt was in the same hospice this past summer-a wonderful place for those in need of their care.
Will be keeping you in my thoughts during the upcoming months. I have such heartwarming memories of the two of you at Dr. Knox & living way out in North Glenmore!!
So many people are sending their love and concern for you...may this bring you comfort & company as you journey forward! My heartfelt concern for you as I understand that a special sisterly bond cannot be replaced. Allow others to journey with you as you grieve.
With compassion & concern & a Big, Strong HUG!
Let me know how you are doing when you are up to sending me a note.

I am beyond saddened to hear that Tawny has left us. I have such fond and fun memories of her and that amazing smile. So many memories were created in Cuzcos at the Capri on Sunday nights. My night off from bartending at another hotel and spent visiting Tawny and her always knowing my food and drink order as I walked in. May you rest in peace and be in your amazing mothers arms now. May your family and friends receive comfort by reminiscing all the good times during this difficult time. You were one of a kind.
