On January 5, 2023, surrounded by her family, Mary Josephine Barrera passed away peacefully after a short but brave battle with cancer.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the BC Cancer Agency.

Please accept my condolences for your loss of Mary.
I am one of her "extended family," I guess, because I stopped in often at the bakery and it was always a pleasure to chat with her.
She was a lovely person with an interesting sense of humour and a lively wit. This is what I remember her for.
    RIP, Mary. - Geoff Weidner
