ARNOLD, Ann Marguerite

ARNOLD, Ann Marguerite

1919 - 2018
With deep sadness but grateful hearts we announce the death of Ann Arnold on February 16, 2018.
Ann is survived by daughter Gail, Kelowna BC and Nova Scotia family: son David (Colleen), grandchildren Kyle and Cynthia (Matt) Jobes, great grandchildren Lily and Clara, niece Nancy (Charles) Roddam-Webb and nephew Rev. Dr. John (Holly) Roddam.

Born in West Dublin, Lunenburg Co. Nova Scotia, August 17, 1919 to Capt. Fred and Jessie Richard, Ann moved to Halifax as a young woman where she graduated from Mount Saint Vincent College and worked for eight years as secretary to the Deputy Minister of Health. Subsequently, she worked part time over 15 years for Sears Canada while dedicating her life to active community service and church membership at St Philips Anglican Church and to the loving care of her family and friends.

Ann is pre-deceased by: husband Harry (2003) of 59 years, sister Hazel Roddam (2012) and son-in-law Trevor Braem ( 2014). In 2005 Ann relocated to Kelowna BC where for eight years she graced the home of Gail and Trevor with her loving presence, before concluding her last four years of life at Lakeview Lodge. The family thanks her family doctor Dr. Jan McIntosh ( retired Dec 2017 ) and all the dedicated staff and nurses at Lakeview Lodge for their excellent compassionate care. On behalf of Ann, Gail especially thanks all of her Kelowna friends and colleagues, including clergy and parishioners of St. Michael and All Angels Cathedral Kelowna who welcomed Ann so warmly and remained a caring community for Ann throughout this chapter of her life.

Ann leaves us as she lived - with a priceless legacy of unconditional love in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her. All of her family and many close friends in NS and BC were deeply touched by her gentle listening, her compassion and gratitude, her genuine humility and insightful wisdom that she shared in her relationships with others until her last days. Ann leaves us now, her spiritual being that shone in life ever inspiring our own.

A memorial service will be held at the Church of The Apostles (formerly St. Philips Anglican Church), Bayers Rd., Halifax, NS on May 18, 2018. Condolences may be sent to daughter Gail [email protected] In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the charity of your choice.

Arrangements entrusted to Everden Rust Funeral Services 250-860-6440.

My sincere condolences Gail & Family. Ann was and always will be special to me. I could always count on her to welcome me into her room with open arms with a big smile on her face. She always loved to hear how everything was going in my life and how the kids were doing. We always had so much to chat about. I will always remember her warm smile.

Dear Gail, so sorry for your loss. I really enjoyed when you brought your mom in - she was a sweet, kind and classy lady.
