U.S. Seeks Canadian Terrorists

  • The U.S. is offering a reward of up to $5 million for information about two men, both Canadian citizens, in connection with terrorist threats. The two men have been identified as Abderraouf Ben Habib Jdey, 49, and Faker Bin Abdelazziz Boussora, 51. According to the U.S. State Department both men are believed to be Canadian citizens and both men have extensive histories of extremist affiliations and links with al-Qaeda.Full Story
  • Controversial legislation to allow oil drilling in an Alaskan wildlife refuge looks likely to pass in the U.S. House of Representatives Thursday after the failure of a Democratic move to stop it. On Wednesday night, Republicans defeated an amendment that would have taken the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge drilling plan out of a broader energy bill. The vote was 231-200.Full Story
  • At least 24 people died Thursday morning when a passenger train hit a cargo train stopped at a village station in western India. Officials said another 56 people were injured.Full Story
  • Zacarias Moussaoui, the only person in U.S. custody charged in connection with the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks, is expected to plead guilty this Friday. The government has charged Moussaoui with being part of an al-Qaeda conspiracy to commit terrorism, including the 2001 attacks on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon that killed nearly 3,000 people.Full Story
