Boy Survives Tsunami

  • A seven-year-old Indonesian boy who was swept away by the tsunami waters on Dec. 26 was reunited with his family in Aceh province on Saturday .

    A British television news crew spotted the child, Martunis, stranded on a beach and immediately brought him to the local Save the Children office to register him.

    The boy was then brought to hospital, where another patient recognized him. Martunis was then reunited with his grandfather and father. The mother and two siblings are still missing.

    It's believed Martunis survived the last three weeks by living on berries, dry noodles and puddle water. Doctors who examined him said he was dehydrated and malnourished but gave him a positive prognosis.Full story
