- A suicide bomber, driving a bus carrying 24 Iraqi National Guard soldiers, detonated the vehicle Sunday morning outside a coalition base near Balad, north of Baghdad, killing 18 soldiers and an Iraqi female civilian, a 1st Infantry Division spokesman has told CNN. Six other Iraqi soldiers were wounded. The suicide bomber was also killed in the attack.Full story
