Florida Braces For Hurricane Charley

  • Hundreds of thousands of people in Florida have been ordered to leave their homes as Hurricane Charley churns toward the Florida coast. Now a Category 2 hurricane, Charley is packing winds of close to 170 km/h. It's expected to strengthen and make landfall along Florida's west coast on Friday. Officials ordered as many as 800,000 people from Tampa Bay to the Florida Keys to leave coastal and low-lying areas as the storm approaches.
