Iran must face "consequences" for failing to comply with a United Nations resolution to stop enriching uranium, U.S. President George W. Bush said Thursday. Bush was responding to a report from the International Atomic Energy Agency that said Iran was enriching uranium as late as Tuesday, two days before a UN Security Council deadline for it to cease the activity. Tropical storm Ernesto grew closer to regaining hurricane status Thursday as it churned over warm Atlantic waters heading for the southern Carolina coast. The U.S. National Hurricane Center said at 2 p.m. ET that Ernesto's winds had strengthened to near 110 km/h with higher gusts. Winds of 119 km/h would bump it to hurricane status. CBC News
