Airliner sinks into runway

An airliner got stuck on the ground in Spain, Saturday.

The Vueling Airbus A320-200 was about to take off from Barcelona, bound for Malaga when it sank into melted asphalt on the runway threshold.

After waiting for clearance from the tower, the crew attempted takeoff, but the aircraft didn't move.

Aviation website aeroinside.com reports the airport closed down the runway.

Controladores Aereos reported the aircraft sank into the hot runway. Temperatures there have been hovering around 30 C.
