2019 Township 7 Cabernet Franc

2019 Cabernet Franc

Wine: Cabernet Franc, 2019

Winery: Township 7, Penticton and Langley

Why drink it? Exclusive to the winery’s clubSEVEN members, this bottle is a good reason to join, or cozy up to a friend who’s already in the club. The grapes come from the southernmost tip of the Okanagan where the heat allows full ripening, producing an elegant, full-bodied cab. There’s just a touch of Merlot for added intrigue and complexity. Aromas of wild blackberries and bramble, with violets and white raspberries. The flavours are a little more savoury than the aromas, with spices, black licorice, and plums added to the berry elements. Decanting will open up the wine nicely.

Pair with: A good turkey burger topped with cranberry-maple sauce. Creamy roasted red pepper hummus with savoury crackers. Experiment with a feta cheese quiche with spinach, leeks, and roasted tomatoes on top.

Price: $44

Music pairing: Feels, Calvin Harris
