2021 Township 7 Pinot Gris

Wine: Pinot Gris, 2021

Winery: Township 7, Langley and Naramata

Why drink it? Not all bottles of Pinot Gris are the same, and when you find one that is true to the varietal and has some memorable notes, it’s worth stocking up – especially those from a challenging environmental year. Aromas of honeysuckle, freshly picked pears, and the minerality left in the air after a summer storm, this wine is fermented in cool stainless steel to keep the fruit flavours vibrant. Expect orchard stone fruits, green apples, some flinty-ness, nice acidity for a crisp finish, and a little more weight and body than you might anticipate from a PG.

Pair with: Oily fish steaks – tuna, salmon, trout – grilled on the BBQ with lemon and lime, roasted chicken dishes, or really good takeout fish and chips. Seafood salads, lighter risotto with fresh peas and spring asparagus will do nicely.

Price: $23

Music pairing: Hole Hearted, Extreme
