Why drink it? This is the winery’s first Sub-Gi labelled wine, designating it as an Okanagan Falls wine as the grapes are from the OK Falls area, and nowhere else. Sauv blanc is a great choice for early spring, with its flinty, green grass aromas that remind one of the air after a spring rain has just passed, along with classic gooseberry and tart apple notes. The citrusy grapefruit and lemon palate has some passionfruit and pineapple tropical bits, and a bigger mouthfeel than expected. It’s mouthwatering thanks to its acidity, with a decently long finish.
Pair with: Fruit salad, green apple slices, your favourite cucumber salad, almost any fresh green vegetable dish, or herbed tofu creations. A goat cheese and asparagus tart. Crab cakes with a bright aioli, or fresh prawns.
