2019 Blue Mountain Estate Cuvée Pinot Noir

Blue Mountain Pinot Noir

Wine: Estate Cuvée Pinot Noir, 2019

Winery: Blue Mountain, Okanagan Falls

Why drink it? The descriptors assigned by the winery itself are most fitting: vivid, youthful vigour, with the “fruit vibrance” the winery is known for. Pinot Noir is a fussy grape, but bottles from this producer rarely, if ever, disappoint in any way thanks to the deliberate care taken throughout the winemaking process. Pale garnet in colour, with cassis, black fruits, and tender vanilla and oak notes on the nose. Light herb notes on the palate are accompanied by elegant tannins that you can let soften for a few years if you can resist opening the bottle for a while.

Pair with: Your favourite wine nerds for a cheerful discussion during a dinner centered around a dish of duck, or an appetizer night featuring a variety of mildly flavoured patés and terrines. Or simply open a bottle and savour a glass on its own.

Price: $35

Music pairing: Blue Bayou, Linda Ronstadt
