2020 Nostalgia Rosé

Wine: Rosé, 2020

Winery: Nostalgia, Oliver

Why drink it? Raise a glass to the re-name and re-brand of the winery formerly known as Oliver Twist, and its 15th anniversary this year. This rosé comes under the Nostalgia label, which complements the Pin-Up and Family Collection labels. A blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Syrah, Malbec, and Cabernet Franc made in the saignée method, its colour rests right in the middle of pale to bright pink. The expressive nose is cranberry, watermelon, and grapefruit, which all emerge on the palate with red fruits coming forward. A dry rosé, it’s a bit playful and definitely fun to enjoy during an afternoon Zoom call.

Pair with: The winery suggests a picnic of tapas inspired by the Mediterranean, which sounds about right. Grab a pack of prosciutto in the deli aisle, pick up a cantaloupe, and go old school by wrapping some melon wedges with super thin slices of the meat.

Price: $24

Music pairing: Pineapple Princess, Annette Funicello
