Dine out to end Homelessness

Over the Winter months the local charity, Inn from the Cold, hosts a number of "Dining out to end Homelessness" events in Kelowna. They partner with local restaurants and once a month that local restaurant donates the proceeds of their sales to Inn from the Cold. Really this event doesn't need much more of a description other than the next one is being held at the Minstrel Cafe on Feb 24th so I thought you might be interested in learning more about what Inn from the Cold is.
Their core programs include:
A shelter, which operates from November-April, and has a capacity for 35 individuals, both men and women, couples and their animal companions. Their guests have access to a safe sleep, personal storage, meals, showers, laundry and case planning through the Outreach Program.
The Kelowna Kodiak Street Soccer Team is a social capacity-building program that focuses on social inclusion and empowerment. Through playing soccer, participants develop key life skills such as: communication, accountability, team work and confidence.
The Chandler House which provides permanent, low-cost housing to men experiencing chronic homelessness in our community. This 8 bedroom, shared accommodation home is staffed 24 hours a day and is pet friendly. The program is wellness-focused and provides opportunities for life skill development, community integration and increased independence.
InnSpire, a social enterprise, led by the students of Enactus Okanagan College who are selling soaps to help raise money for Inn from the Cold. The students package, promote, and sell soap offering 100% of the proceeds to Inn from the Cold. In December alone they have raised over $2500 for the non-profit. They are currently looking for stores to partner with them to sell the soap so please contact IFTC if you are interested in supporting this endeavor.
Just to keep the doors open they need to fill over 1000 volunteer shifts so if you want to help them out in any way go to http://www.innfromthecoldkelowna.org/ for more information.
