West Kelowna’s Rad Relish Co. is one of the winners of the 16th annual Indigenous Business Awards.
The company, which was created by Métis elder Peggy Millsap, has captured the Business of the Year Award for one- to two-person enterprises. Millsap came up with her business idea when she had a bunch of leftover zucchini one year.
The winners will be honoured at a formal gala ceremony at Fairmont Hotel Vancouver on Oct. 7. BC Achievement Foundation sponsors the annual awards program.
“This year’s IBA recipients demonstrate remarkable entrepreneurship and show an unyielding commitment to driving economic growth and fostering community well-being,” BC Achievement Foundation chairman Walter Pela said.
“Their accomplishments serve as a powerful reminder of the significant impact Indigenous businesses have in shaping a prosperous and inclusive future for all British Columbians.”
