Fire crests hill: photos

Dramatic photos of the McDougall Creek wildfire continue to pour in from across the region.

The fire is highly visible, set against the night sky and amplified by the reflection from Okanagan Lake as the fire approaches the water.

UPDATE 9:02 p.m.

The McDougall Creek wildfire is expected to burn out of control overnight and it has already crested Rose Valley and is heading towards Bear Creek.

Dramatic photos show visible flames and candling and the entire hillside is lit up as the fire races towards Okanagan Lake.

The McDougall Creek wildfire burning in the hills above West Kelowna has grown rapidly since it was first discovered Tuesday evening, and its massive plume of smoke can be seen from across the Okanagan Thursday afternoon.
