Westside adds Assistant Fire Chief

Assistant Kelowna Fire Chief, Kerry Klonteig, has found a new peg to hang his hat on.

Klonteig, an 18 year firefighting veteran, has accepted a similar position with the Westside Fire Department.

"Kerry is a strong leader," says Westside Fire Chief, Wayne Schnitzler.

"He brings to the department a wealth of knowledge and understanding of fire service."

Schnitzler says Klonteig will be responsible for fire prevention and operations on the Westside.

Klonteig will join the Westside Fire Department in mid-June.
