Westside Road motorcycle crash victim identified as young race car driver

Crash victim identified

The motorcycle rider who died in a crash Saturday on Westside Road has been identified as a young race car driver.

Noelle Teal, 20, died when her motorcycle collided with a truck on Westside Road just south of Lake Okanagan Resort.

Teal was well-known in the motorsport community in B.C. and Ontario.

“She loved to ride her motorcycle and racing. We know she wished her car to be at the Pumpkinfest car show. So we dropped it off for her this morning,” said her family in a statement, shared by the Ohsweken Speedway in Ontario.

The speedway also posted videos of her car and a small memorial on display.

A cross has already been erected at the crash site on Westside Road.

On Sept. 25, she posted about her third place finish at a dirt track race in Merritt, B.C.

“The racing family has lost a beautiful soul,” said Nathan Ackland Racing on Facebook.

“Noelle Teal always had a beaming smile and positive attitude whenever you saw her. From micros to full size sprints, Noelle had a great passion for racing and even turned the wrenches on her cars too! It was a pleasure to have her around to help work on our cars over the years. We send our condolences to Chris, Miranda, Kiana and family. Rest in Peace, you will be missed 14T.”
