A man that was killed in a single-vehicle crash on West Kelowna's Horizon Drive a week ago has been identified by his family.
Adam Lawrence died in a crash that occurred on Horizon Drive at about 5:40 p.m., according to a family member on Facebook, who said the incident was being investigated criminally as more than a simple crash.
In a news release the day after the incident, Kelowna RCMP Const. Mike Della-Paolera said that alcohol and speed had not been ruled out as contributing factors in the crash, but did not reveal much more beyond the fact that a man died.
Castanet News contacted police this week with questions related to the circumstances leading up to the crash. Della-Paolera responded by calling the file "complex" and said the "investigation is on-going."
"We simply need witnesses to come forward to the police with this information not to the media, that does not help us," he said. "There will be an update when the time is right."
Many friends and family took to Facebook this week to share kind comments and memories of Adam. The family is asking for privacy at this time.
A friend of Adam has created a GoFundMe to help raise money for a celebration of life, which can be found here.
