A woman is out of hospital after a violent attack in broad daylight on a West Kelowna sidewalk.
Several people witnessed the beating and stabbing in the 2500 block of Main Street at about 3:20 p.m. on Dec. 2, 2021.
The suspect ran away but was captured by RCMP officers after a brief foot pursuit. He was cornered on a property at Main Street and Paynter Road.
Danny Leo Blanchard, 24, has been charged with assault, assault with a weapon and aggravated assault.
He has been remanded in custody. His next court appearance is scheduled for Dec. 9.
The woman was rushed to Kelowna General Hospital in serious condition. She was treated for her injuries and later released. The victim and suspect were known to each other.
