Overlapping power outages in West Kelowna affected more than 3,000 customers

Residents in West Kelowna report power was restored shortly after 8 a.m.

ORIGINAL: 7:35 a.m.

BC Hydro is reporting overlapping power outages in West Kelowna, affecting more than 3,000 customers.

The first covers an area west of McCallum Road, south of Auburn Road, north of Ridge Estates Drive and east of Saddleback Place.

It's affecting 2,671 customers.

The second is east of Ross Road, north of Cabernet Way, west of Marlyn Court and south Byland Road.

It affects 497 customers.

BC Hydro says the power went out shortly after 7 a.m.

The cause of both outages is under investigation.

Crews have yet to be assigned to the problem.
