A pickup truck hauling a cargo trailer caught fire Sunday afternoon on the Coquihalla Connector.

It happened about four kilometres past the Brenda Mines turnoff.

Castanet readers sent video footage of the truck fully engulfed in flames. One witness says it appears to have blown up just before they passed the scene.

A couple of people could be seen outside the truck, leaning against the concrete barrier along the highways.

There is no word of anyone being injured, or if the fire spread to nearby brush, but one witness did call BC Wildfire Service to alert them.

There have been a number of wildfires in the region this summer sparked by vehicle fires, including one the Brenda Creek fire, which started July 14, and the Two Mile Road fire near Sicamous.
