Sudden Westside Death

RCMP on the Westside are dealing with a sudden death.

The body of a man, believed to be in his mid 20's, was discovered early Tuesday morning at 2680 Campbell Road.

Kelowna Rural RCMP Corporal, Jim Dehoog, says the cause of death is still being determined.

"The only reason this is being given more attention than a normal sudden death is the fact we're very aware of the associates living in the home," says Dehoog. "They're well known to police."

He says five males, all around the same age, reside in the home along with the deceased.

Dehoog says the body was discovered Tuesday morning by the other men living in the home.

"At the time the body was reported to us, it's believed they all were in the home."

He says it's too early to determine a cause of death and whether foul play is to blame.

"The body was not disturbed by us. The ambulance attendants confirmed the individual was deceased and at that point we just cleared out the residence and waited for the identification team to arrive."

Dehoog says the body was discovered in a natural position in bed.

He says if the ident team does not turn up anything, police will have to wait for the coroner's report before a cause of death can be determined.

According to Dehoog, the home is being considered a crime scene until it can be proven otherwise.
