A head-on collision near Highway 97 and Renfrew Road in Peachland on the weekend sent one vehicle into the lake and all occupants to hospital.
Kelowna RCMP say according to witnesses, a northbound vehicle was driving at a high rate of speed along the two-lane portion of Highway 97. A second car that was leaving a fruit stand was attempting to make a left turn onto the highway when it was hit by the northbound car.
The northbound vehicle ended up on its roof in Okanagan Lake.
The occupant of the vehicle, an 18-year-old Peachland man was able to get out of the car and swim safely to shore.
The occupants of the second vehicle, a 34-year-old man and 26-year-old woman, both from Vancouver, were taken to Kelowna General Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
The driver of the vehicle pulling out onto the highway did not have a valid driver's license.
Charges are anticipated against the driver of the other vehicle as well.
