West Kelowna pizza place offering to help out anyone in need of food

Pizza shop offering up help

A pizza shop in West Kelowna is looking out for the community and anyone in need of a hot meal or groceries.

Pizzamoreh posted on Facebook Tuesday that they would be willing to help out those in need of necessities who aren't able to make ends meet.

“There’s a lot of people that are going through some hard times with everything that went down this year.” said Dax Guestross, one of the owners of Pizzamoreh.

The pizza shop also features a drive thru, which is one of the main reasons it was able to continue operating throughout this year.

“We just wanted to help out because we’re not in an awesome situation, but we’re in a better situation with most people with our business that kept going.”

The shop encourages anyone in need to send them a private message on Facebook.

“We’ll just talk with them a little bit and see what we can do.”

Guestross has seen a lot of loving comments and shares on the post, seeing it go a little more viral than he expected.

“I wasn’t expecting anywhere close to that to be honest,” Guestross said, adding that not too many people have messaged in about needing help yet.

The restaurant has had its own struggles too, when someone stole a couple thousand dollars worth of ingredients in May.

“We shut down for the day because we didn’t have enough supplies, but we got back up on our feet.”

But the incident didn’t sway Guestross’ spirit in offering help to the community.

“We’ll try our best to do whatever we can.”
