COSAR has been asked to stand down in search for body

COSAR called off in search

Central Okanagan Search and Rescue tell Castanet they have been asked to stand down in the search for the body a missing 33-year-old Alberta man, presumed drowned after cliff jumping on Okanagan Lake this long weekend.

The RCMP tells Castanet that despite COSAR standing down their efforts, RCMP divers are continuing efforts to recover the body of the man, presumed to have drowned.

RCMP and search and rescue spent much of the long weekend searching for the body after a man didn't resurface on August 1 just before 3 p.m.

Despite an extensive search, crews have been unable to locate the body of the man, who is presumed drowned.

The RCMP Underwater Recovery Team spent much of Sunday and Monday attempting to locate the body and they are continuing their efforts on Tuesday as well.
