A new playground is coming to Traders Cove after long weekend

New playground coming

The Regional District of Central Okanagan is installing a new playground at West Kelowna's Traders Cove Regional Park.

After the BC Day long weekend, a modern playground will be installed along Westside Road in the 13.5-hectare waterfront park.

Construction is expected to take two weeks and while work is underway, the playground area will remain closed.

After the new equipment is installed, children between 18-months and 12 years can enjoy a new dual-bay swing set, two slides, climbing apparatus and play fort structure. Safety-approved wood fibre surface lays beneath.

The cost of the new structure is just over $71,000 and this coming fall, the park picnic shelter will be replaced.

Residents are reminded to practice physical distancing and proper hygiene when using equipment.
