Home in West Kelowna hit by multiple bullets

Home peppered with bullets

UPDATE 12:30 p.m.

At least two bullet holes are visible in the windows of a West Kelowna home that was targeted with gunfire in the early hours of Tuesday morning.

Police say the home inside Trail Park Mobile Villas trailer park was shot at just after 1 a.m. The home is located in the southwest corner of the park, on the corner of Pike and East Boundary roads, across the street from the Boucherie Ball Field.

A single RCMP forensic investigator was on scene Tuesday morning, analyzing the bullet holes and collecting evidence. Five evidence markers were on the ground on the trailer park's back fire lane, outside the targeted home's fence.

Despite the overnight shooting, several spirited games of pickleball were being played at the nearby courts Tuesday morning, less than 100 metres away. Across Ross Road at the north end of the trailer park, a group of children were playing outside at a daycare.

Police have yet to make any arrests in the shooting, and the West Kelowna RCMP is appealing to the public for information.

A home at the corner of East Boundary and Pike Road, but within the Trail Park Mobile Villas, is wrapped in crime scene tape.

A single RCMP cruiser has remained on scene while forensic investigators work. At least five evidence markers dot the ground around the mobile home, which has a trampoline in the yard.

Nothing is yet known about the occupants of the home, but police say they were unharmed.
