Tense moments for semi driver on Okanagan Connector

Runaway b-train on 97C

The driver of a semi was apparently uninjured after being forced to use a runaway lane on the Okanagan Connector Thursday afternoon.

The incident happened shortly before 2 p.m.

There's no indication as to what caused the driver of the large b-train to use the runaway lane in the Brenda Mines area.

Several motorists stopped and checked on the driver to ensure he was OK.

The cab of the b-train appears to have come to a rest in the bush, while the b-train itself may have become disengaged.

The semi belongs to Winnipeg-based Singh Tranz.

Motorists are being advised to slow down in the area.
