Minor injuries in rollover

UPDATE 1 p.m.

RCMP say injuries were minor in a rollover on Highway 97 in Peachland this morning.

Police were called to the crash just north of the Princeton Avenue intersection at about 8:45 a.m.

“Both occupants were able to extract themselves from the vehicle, a red Mazda sedan with minor injuries and were treated at scene by Emergency Health Services,” said Const. Solana Paré.

The female driver, a 21-year-old and female passenger, a 28-year-old both from the Kelowna area told officers they swerved to avoid a hazard on the roadway.

“The vehicle was extensively damaged and the highway was temporarily closed to remove the vehicle from the road. There was minor damage to a power pole and road signs due to the collision,” Paré added
