UPDATE 1 p.m.
RCMP say injuries were minor in a rollover on Highway 97 in Peachland this morning.
Police were called to the crash just north of the Princeton Avenue intersection at about 8:45 a.m.
“Both occupants were able to extract themselves from the vehicle, a red Mazda sedan with minor injuries and were treated at scene by Emergency Health Services,” said Const. Solana Paré.
The female driver, a 21-year-old and female passenger, a 28-year-old both from the Kelowna area told officers they swerved to avoid a hazard on the roadway.
“The vehicle was extensively damaged and the highway was temporarily closed to remove the vehicle from the road. There was minor damage to a power pole and road signs due to the collision,” Paré added
Impairment does not appear to be a factor. The investigation continues.
UPDATE 10:30 a.m.
DriveBC reports the crash is cleared and traffic is once again flowing in both directions.
UPDATE 9:14 a.m.
Highway 97 southbound is now open following a single-vehicle rollover near Peachland. Traffic heading to Penticton is now moving but northbound traffic is being rerouted through Peachland as of 9:10 a.m.

Traffic is stopped in both lanes on Highway 97 through Peachland just before the Princeton Avenue intersection.
A red vehicle is on its roof and was on fire in the middle of the highway. Emergency crews just arrived and managed to douse the flames just before 9 a.m.
No word on the extent of any injuries.
