Motorists who regularly use Gellatly Road are advised to use an alternate route for the foreseeable future.
The City of West Kelowna says the Gellatly Road bridge, which passes over Powers Creek near the Westbank Yacht Club, will be closed at the end of January.
The closure will allow crews to remove and replace the bridge.
The project is expected to take about three months to complete.
Because access over Powers Creek will not be possible during construction, motorists travelling northbound and southbound on Gellatly will use temporary detours via Highway 97 and Gellatly Road South and via Highway 97 or Boucherie Road and Gellatly Road North.
Rotary Trails Park and parking lot will also be closed to provide a construction staging area.
