Kelowna West MLA Ben Stewart has rejoined the Liberal caucus.
Stewart stepped away from caucus Aug. 1, after he discovered an issue concerning a political contribution.
Chief electoral officer Anton Boegman says Stewart reached out to Elections BC concerning the contribution to the BC Liberal Party that was reimbursed to the individual by the party.
On Tuesday, Boegman said a review found no evidence the contribution and reimbursement were made in contravention to the Election Act.
Liberal Leader Andrew Wilkinson welcomed Stewart back to caucus, and thanked him for taking the "appropriate actions" to ensure full co-operation with Elections BC.
“I’m looking forward to returning to the legislature this fall with the rest of my BC Liberal colleagues, and I thank Elections BC for their thorough and timely review of this issue,” said Stewart.
“Thank you as well to my constituents for their support and encouragement. I will continue to work hard to represent them in Victoria.”
