This fundraiser ain't no Bull

Don Journeay is continuing his dream of reopening the former Crystal Mountain ski resort.

Journeay, who owns the company that holds the lease on the hill, plans to open the ski hill this winter under the new name Bull Mountain.

In order to raise funds for the hill, Journeay is holding an open air music and comedy festival, Awesome City Limits Saturday, Oct. 5.

The all-day festival will be held at the ski hill.

The event will be highlighted by The Hip Replacements, a Tragically Hip tribute band. Other musical acts scheduled to perform include Rockaholicks, Linus, Psycherelics, Sugar Coated Killers and a Ramones cover band.

Comedians Andrew Crone, Caleb Campbell and Taz McNally are also slated to appear.

All proceeds will go to the opening of Bull Mountain Adventure Park.

Tickets are $50 and are available by clicking here.

Journeay said recently support from the community has been fantastic, and believes he has the time to get the hill up and running, minus the chairlift, which he says has been heavily vandalized.
