Car crashes, catches fire

A car caught fire Monday night after a collision in Peachland.

The vehicle apparently struck two parked pickup trucks on Beach Avenue about 9:45 p.m. before bursting into flames.

Firefighters, paramedics and police attended the scene at 4372 Beach Avenue, on the Peachland waterfront.

A bystander apparently pulled the driver out of the vehicle.

It is believed the driver suffered only minor injuries as they were not treated inside the ambulance, but a witness tells Castanet they were in the back of a police SUV.

The incident closed down Beach Avenue in both directions for a time.
