Vehicles engulfed in flames

A vehicle fire outside a West Kelowna carwash is being investigated as suspicious.

Firefighters responded the blaze on Wednesday night off Old Okanagan at 7:45 p.m.

West Kelowna fire chief Jason Brolund said crews found three cars were burning.

“The fire was beginning to extend into the car wash building,” he said. “Crews quickly knocked down the fire, limiting it to the outside of the building.”

Firefighters from Glenrosa and Rose Valley stations responded incase it spread to the building.

“The fire is considered suspicious at this time,” said Brolund.

A fire investigator from West Kelowna Fire Rescue is working with the RCMP to conduct a fire cause determination investigation.

Firefighters are at the scene of a vehicle fire in West Kelowna on Wednesday night.

Initial reports of the fire came in just after 7:40 p.m. near the Husky gas station off Old Okanagan Highway.

A witness at the scene says the fire has spread to the structure, but this has not been confirmed.
